Public Notice: Anchorage International Airport Master Plan Update Now Complete 

December 12, 2014

Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) has completed its Master Plan Update, which will help guide future airport development. The Master Plan Update is now available online at www.ancmasterplan.com/library.

Print copies of the Master Plan Update may be viewed at the Z.J. Loussac Library (3600 Denali Street, Anchorage, AK, 99503) and at the ANC Administration Offices (5000 West International Airport Road, Anchorage, AK, 99502, 4th Floor).

The Airport would like to thank the individuals, organizations, and businesses that participated in the Master Plan Update process. Input provided by the diverse range of Master Plan Update participants was vital to the development and assessment of alternatives and, ultimately, to the selection of the demand dependent, phased approach for the Plan for Future Development.

The Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport will continue to serve an integral transportation role in Alaska and the world. Developed through a thorough and inclusive planning process, the Master Plan Update will strategically position the Airport for the future and assist the Airport in continuing to meet its mission to “develop, operate, and maintain the Airport for Anchorage, Alaska, and the World.” 

 

Notice of Online Open House for the Public Review Draft of the Master Plan Update
June 30 - August 29, 2014

Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) is in the final stage of its Master Plan Update, which will help guide future airport development.   The public review draft of the Master Plan Update is now available for review and comment.

From June 30, 2014 through August 29, 2014, the public is invited to provide comments on the public review draft of the Master Plan Update. All comments received in this 60-day timeframe will be considered and responded to during the finalization of the Master Plan Update.   After August 29, 2014, comments relating to the Master Plan Update will still be accepted by the Airport. The final version of the Master Plan Update is anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2014, and will be posted online.

Print copies of the public review draft of the Master Plan Update may be viewed at the Z.J. Loussac Library (3600 Denali Street, Anchorage, AK, 99503) and at the ANC Administration Offices (5000 West International Airport Road, Anchorage, AK, 99502, 4th Floor) during the review period.

The public is invited to an Online Open House to view and comment on the draft of the Master Plan Update.    The Online Open House can be accessed at http://www.ancmasterplan.com/onlinemeeting/. The Airport’s Master Plan Update is a lengthy document; this Online Open House has been designed to outline the chapters and appendices of the Master Plan Update, and to facilitate review of the information therein.

The public review draft of the Master Plan Update is also available online at www.ancmasterplan.com/library. Comments may be submitted online, via email, by fax, or by mail; see www.ancmasterplan.com/contact-us for details.

At these meetings, ANC will share the results of the alternatives evaluation, as well as the draft plan for ensuring the Airport’s ability to meet long-term aviation needs.  Comments on the draft plan will be collected and used to assist the planning team in finalizing the plan in November 2013. The Master Plan Update will be finalized at the end of 2013 and identify trigger points that would establish the need for future airport development.

The purpose of the public seminar to provide information about Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant assurances, including information on how they relate to airport planning and land use. The seminar is open to the public and will include a presentation and a question and answer session.

ANC Master Plan Update, Working Group Meeting #2

The second meeting of the Master Plan Update Working Group is scheduled for Monday, January 14, 2013, from 11am to 1pm. The purpose of the second meeting is to provide more background information on the Master Plan Update, and to provide more time for participants to discuss Master Plan issues. The public is welcome to observe the meeting, and if time allows, provide comments at the end of the meeting.

The Working Group is a body of neighborhood, community, recreational, environmental, and business interest groups. Anchorage International Airport established the Master Plan Update Working Group recognizing that many organizations have an interest in the Master Plan Update, and would like to be engaged in the planning process. The Working Group is one of many tools that will be used to gather public input throughout the Master Plan Update.
